Let me start with this: I'd buy this again, but there are thing I'm not happy with:
- the fretboard was dirty
- string the guitar came with was rusty
- frets are not leveled. getting some buzz, also checked with a fret rocker
- this guitar is really heavy, bit out of balance when sitting, tends to lean back
So I changed the strings, cleaned up the fretboard and applied some oil and polished up the frets. I have all the tools necessary and comfortable doing my own setup, so other then the weight, my issues are mostly fixed already.
Later I'll level the frets, but they are not terrible so that can wait a bit.
pros, that make up for the cons:
- i love the satin neck
- heel joint is great and comfortable
- rolled fingerboard edges are nice
- tuning machines are really smooth
- sounds great

Guitar arrived in excellent condition - the strings, were not so great.
The neck/frets, etc totally spot on - the only guitar I have done nothing with fret wise !
The Satin Neck & High Access on the underside - very nice guitar to play.
Everything went well for the first 4 weeks until a cold caller came (it was a very windy afternoon) selling broadband, and long story short a massive gust came into the house the Sire was smashed into the door frame by the gust hitting the door - the headstock hit the door frame and the fret board was ripped off the neck down to the 4/5th fret - I asked the sales person to leave as politely as I could.
The damage was pretty bad - but I had some Titebond, clamps (and some gumption) and decided to give it a try before binning it - the fretboard stuck back perfectly on the 1st attempt - on the lowerside - the finish (into the binding went back perfectly (so no sanding, etc was required !!!!) The top side, wasn't great - but after the fix the guitar was playable !
Recently I stripped it down and sanded it back and sprayed the whole neck 5 times (with a satin poly varnish spray can) - and now (apart from a slight difference in colour) the repair is so good that my thumb can no longer tell it was broken !
More Recently I added Pushpull Pots (for coil splits), chrome humbucker rings, chrome knobs and jack plate - making it look very "Gibson HP-II" – I wont be playing it until September (to let the varnish cure fully)
